## Quick answer

A free, zoomable map of every bus and train route this site tracks in and around Laos, the Laos–China Railway, and the 18 international border crossings between Laos and Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and China, each one numbered and placed at its border post. Free to share under CC BY 4.0.

## What does this map show?
The bus and train routes we track to, from and within Laos, coloured by the country they head to; the **Laos–China Railway** in red; and the **18 international border crossings**, numbered so you can find each one in the list below. Tap the map to zoom in.

## How to read it

- **Line colour** shows where a route goes: navy within Laos, green to Vietnam, teal to Thailand, brown to Cambodia.

- **Dashed lines** are routes that run but are not sold online: buy the ticket at the bus station.

- **The red line** is the Laos–China Railway, with its main stations. It continues north to Kunming.

- **Numbered circles** are the international border crossings, listed below with a link to each guide.

- Lines show **which border** a route uses, not the exact road it follows.

## The border crossings on the map

<p>Numbered as on the map. Each one links to its border guide, with opening hours, visa rules and the buses that use it. Boten's road and railway checkpoints share number 7.

## Common questions

## Common questions

### Is there a map of bus routes in Laos?

Yes, this one. It shows every bus and train route we track inside Laos and across its borders, with the crossing each one uses. Routes you cannot book online are dashed, and every route is listed with times and fares on our routes page.

### How many border crossings does Laos have with its neighbours?

Eighteen international road and rail crossings carry travellers: six with Thailand, nine with Vietnam, one with Cambodia and two with China at Boten. All are on the map. The full official register, airports included, is on our checkpoint page.

### Can I use this map on my website?

Yes. It is free under CC BY 4.0: credit Laos Bus Tickets and link to this page. The embed code above does both.
